This year we proposed to the National Congress is a significant fact in our work with the contribution of Method Validation. We propose an abstract of oral communication that we will do on December 4 in the Course of Rehabilitation.
VASCULAR DEMENTIA: A CASE REPORT CONTRIBUTION TO THE MANAGEMENT OF METHOD VALIDATION ®

Purpose: we want to communicate an experience, we believe that significant, in our hurried Foundation from April 2007 to date. A very elderly patient, who suffers from vascular dementia, was followed by a 'team consists of some operators validation of 1st and 2nd level, in a secure environment in which staff did have training in basic validation ( 3). In fact, the patient has received a validating attitude from the staff in general, meeting specific validation (2) and the relationship to other elders with dementia in group sessions (1). In everyday life the patient also have occurred previously acquired from other sources' team. It must be said that, certainly a major contribution to obtaining dei risultati è stato dato dalla gestione farmacologia. Si consideri infine la collaborazione positiva dei familiari che hanno partecipato agli incontri validation e ne hanno beneficiato nel migliorare il rapporto con la paziente e con l’equipè.
Il caso clinico: la signora B. J. affetta da demenza vascolare, di anni 88, vedova da circa 20 anni, un figlio deceduto in giovane età, fino al ricovero nella RSA della nostra Fondazione ha vissuto da sola. Ha lavorato come maestra elementare ed è sempre stata una donna molto impegnata in politica, di grande cultura, autoritaria e indipendente. All’ingresso sono già presenti deficit cognitivi moderati associati a disturbi del comportamento quali agitazione psicomotoria, deliri, disinibizione, irritability, depression. First part of a group of RSA, is then transferred to the Alzheimer's Unit for worsening of eating disorders. An operator validation has nevertheless dealt with the patient since admission. Since January 2008, Ms is inserted into a group of elderly people who meet once a week with a driver validation. Within this group, all participants have a role and the lady is the "President", the one that opens and closes the meeting and contribute to the choice of the theme of the day. Tools to verify the efficacy of the method: MMSE, UCLA, CDR, Barthel. Results
Current:
-preserved functional ability, partial dependency in activities of daily living,
-behavioral problems have decreased significantly and manageable
-good relationship with the operators and with other patients,
-involvement in the nucleus and those in entertainment who have cultural content.
Conclusion: has witnessed a significant improvement in noise characteristic of this disease, as can be seen from the graph of the UCLA test, known in evolutionary pejorative sense, following the passage by the Department of the RSA core disease, in which the Validation Method is applied consistently and completely as a business tool.
